WoW's notoriously difficult to obtain Christmas Mounts Could Become Easier to Earn Feb-17-2022

World of Warcraft's holiday-themed mounts, including The X-45 Heartbreaker, have long been a source of contention on the side of many of the completionists and collectors of mounts, with incredible low drop rates, and are not purchasable with WOW Classic Gold, only getting available during a brief period of time each year. According to Blizzard the situation is likely to change very soon.

In a thread on the forum where players expressed their displeasure with the low drop rate for the X-45 Heartbreaker mount, which is only available at the annually scheduled Love is in the Air celebration, WoW developer Chimes, who, um, commented on the ways in which it can frustrate players, and also what Blizzard plans to address the issue. At present, the mount is only available through an item chest that is earned by the completion of an event-specific dungeon at least each day.

"Right right now, should would like to increase your chances of winning the mount it's in your best interests to repeat the event each day with the most characters you can," Chimes wrote. "That's...mathematically correct, but not a great experience. We're hearing about the frustration, and the positive side is that we're addressing this issue with the team and considering the possibilities of solutions for holidays generally."

Chimes continues to state that although adjustments are being made however, they aren't fully prepared in time for last year's Valentine's Day event. The most straightforward solution to this issue is to boost the chance of dropping the mount, however it's unclear whether Blizzard decides to go down that path or provide a different alternative.

However, the reality that Blizzard is reviewing the situation is great news for those who have been trying for years to get rare mounts such as The X-45 Heartbreaker (recently renamed amidst the WoW team's recent efforts to increase the accessibility of the game) as well as The Horseman's Reins mount from the annual Halloween event without success. According to the data of Wowhead The X-45 Heartbreaker has a drop rate of about .03 percent, while The Horseman's Reins boasts a .4 percentage chance of dropping. Other mounts that can be earned during the holiday season like The Great Brewfest Kodo or Ram are likely to have a 2-3 percent chance of dropping, and WOW Gold's drop chance will also increase.

The WoW's next major patch, Eternity's End, is scheduled to launch on in February. The patch will end with the final battle against the main antagonist that is the main antagonist of WoW's Shadowlands expansion The Jailer, who is the main antagonist in the brand new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. Patch 9.2 and the recent changes to the design occur at a moment when Blizzard is rethinking the assumptions that have been made about WoW as well as cross-faction gameplay as a result of ongoing discrimination and harassment cases and investigations at Activision Blizzard.
